MASS-IPV Webinar at the 22nd Bioarchitecture & Sustainability Week: From Integrated Photovoltaics to Building Transformation

Apr 3, 2026 | News

The MASS-IPV project will participate in the 22nd edition of the Bioarchitecture & Sustainability Week, taking place from 14 to 17 April 2026 in Modena, Italy. As part of this established international event, MASS-IPV will host a dedicated online session exploring the role of integrated photovoltaics in shaping the future of sustainable buildings and urban environments.

A contribution to the climate transition of cities

This year’s edition, titled “Living the Climate / Strategies and Actions for Living in Tomorrow’s Cities“, focuses on how the climate crisis is reshaping the way we design, construct, and manage urban spaces. In this context, Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) are gaining increasing attention as a key solution to support the decarbonization of the built environment.

The MASS-IPV webinar will contribute to this discussion by presenting how photovoltaic technologies can move beyond niche applications and become an integral part of mainstream building practice.

From innovation to real-world application

The session will bring together experts from research, industry, and demonstration projects to present the following:

  • Practical approaches for integrating photovoltaics into buildings and infrastructure
  • Business models and financing strategies enabling BIPV adoption at scale
  • Insights from real demonstration projects, from design to construction
  • Key regulatory and fire safety challenges affecting BIPV deployment
  • Barriers to large-scale adoption and strategies to address them

Through these contributions, the webinar aims to bridge the gap between technological innovation and real-world implementation.

The webinar will follow a program of presentations covering the full spectrum of BIPV integration, from technology and market readiness to real-world demonstration and regulatory challenges. The session will be moderated by Francesco Guaraldi (AESS).
