On 22 October 2025, the MASS-IPV consortium gathered in San Sebastián, Spain, for its 24-month project meeting, hosted by TECNALIA, one of Europe’s leading research and technological development centres.

Held at TECNALIA’s facilities in the Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Gipuzkoa, the three-day meeting brought together partners from across Europe to review the progress made so far.

Discussions covered updates across all work packages, including:

  • Technological innovations – focusing on new BIPV module designs and mounting systems, lightweight substrates, bifacial and vertical PV modules, and digital tools such as the BIPV.world platform and the BIMSolar and Grasshopper BIPV design tools.
  • Demonstration activities – presenting progress across all demo sites, from building façades and noise barriers to solar green roofs and transparent BIPV solutions.
  • Communication, dissemination, exploitation and standardization – highlighting ongoing outreach actions, training initiatives, clustering activities, the latest developments in the exploitation plan, and contributions to standardization efforts supporting the wider adoption of BIPV technologies across Europe.

The agenda also featured technical visits to TECNALIA’s PV-module and fire-testing laboratories, as well as CIDETEC’s facilities, providing partners with valuable opportunities to connect the project’s research to real-world applications.

As the project enters its third year, partners reaffirmed their commitment to collective innovation and the large-scale adoption of integrated PV solutions across Europe.
